God is moving, and I am expectant for what’s ahead! After experiencing Ambition Conference 2025 in Denver, CO, I walked away with a renewed sense of calling, urgency, and vision for what’s next in ministry. Ambition wasn’t just a conference—it was a time of encounter, equipping, and clarity, where God confirmed and expanded the work ahead.

The themes of discipleship, evangelism, leadership development, and bold prayer shaped every session and every conversation. As I prayed, coached planters, and ministered throughout Ambition, it became clear that this next season is about building up leaders and planting movements that will reach the unreached. However, following the conference, things took an unexpected turn.

Navigating Challenges: A Delayed Start but a Renewed Focus

On February 14, 2025, a wave of layoffs at Haskell Indian Nations University resulted in the termination of approximately 23% of the staff, including instructors, program specialists, custodians, and IT workers. This significant reduction in personnel led to disruptions across the campus, affecting various departments and services. In response, students and supporters organized protests to voice their concerns and demand government intervention. The Haskell Foundation also initiated fundraising efforts to support the affected employees and maintain essential campus functions.

Despite these challenges, your prayers and generosity have helped sustain and advance this ministry. We are now witnessing signs of improvement and stepping forward with renewed focus:

  • A student-led Bible study is now drawing 20 students weekly, creating a strong foundation for discipleship.
  • We are making inroads with the athletic department, with a goal of serving as team chaplains to pray with teams before sporting events.
  • Intentional one-on-one discipleship has begun, allowing students who are still searching for faith to receive foundational teaching.

Now that the situation is stabilizing, we are ready to press forward with what God revealed at Ambition.

1️⃣ Strengthening Discipleship at Haskell

One of the clearest messages I received at Ambition was that discipleship must be rooted in multiplication. We are not just called to walk alongside students—we are called to equip them to disciple others. This season, we will focus on:

  • Developing student leaders who are ready to disciple their peers.
  • Expanding Bible studies to provide spaces for students at different stages of faith.
  • Athlete-Focused Studies to reach students with unique schedules and team dynamics.
  • Creating leadership pipelines to help students take ownership of their faith and ministry.

2️⃣ Expanding Outreach & Evangelism

At Ambition, I was reminded that the gospel moves outward—our job is to step into places where faith is not yet known and create spaces where students can encounter Jesus. This means:

  • Hosting prayer walks to intercede for campuses before conversations even begin.
  • Training students to share their faith and build spiritual conversations in everyday life.
  • Creating welcoming environments for students who are curious about faith but hesitant to step into traditional church settings.
  • Connecting with students outside traditional ministry spaces—meeting them where they are.

3️⃣ Building a Stronger Prayer Movement

One of the most powerful takeaways from Ambition was the reaffirmation that prayer is the foundation of revival. As I often say, when we pray, God moves, and this next season will be built on bold, expectant prayer. We are committed to:

  • Mobilizing students and supporters to pray for campuses and students.
  • Encouraging consistent intercession for Haskell and beyond.
  • Seeking out partners who will pray for spiritual renewal and open doors in ministry.
  • Leading students in a lifestyle of prayer that fuels mission.

4️⃣ Catalyze: New Ministry Seeds Being Planted

Beyond Haskell, God is opening doors at Sitting Bull College and Lac Courte Oreilles Ojibwe University. In the early stages of research, we’ve found People of Peace—individuals sensing the Lord’s call to plant something new on their campuses.

  • Pray for these leaders as they take their first steps in starting something new.
  • Coaching & equipping – I’ll be walking alongside them as they begin to shape their vision and ministry approach.
  • Trusting God for multiplication – These are the early signs of what could become lasting gospel movements.

How You Are Making This Possible

Ministry is not a solo mission—it happens through the prayers, generosity, and encouragement of those who believe in this work. Because of you:

  • Students are being discipled and stepping into leadership.
  • Gospel conversations are happening in new spaces.
  • Prayer is covering campuses and preparing hearts.
  • New ministries are being birthed beyond Haskell.

Thank you for walking this journey with me—your support is making a real impact!
